My baking companion

17th February 2025,
Twenty-first day of blogging.

Helloo guys, I just had my coffee and you know what? Somehow I started the process to make caramel cupcakes which was scheduled to be done in the last weekend itself but by saying silly reasons I was convinced to procrastinate it but as I've informed my siblings about this, they were eagerly waiting for them. so i decided to make my babies their favourite cupcakes. But then I was stuck by the beauty of my recipe book. Let's see why.

I reached home by 2 pm this afternoon, luckily I got my bus that has been already waiting at the bus stop, the moment I saw it, I started running rapidly towards it because if i miss that bus, the next one will arrive after 45mins and I don't think I got the energy and patience under that sweet but scorching sun today. And the funniest part is that after pulling my soul out of my body, chasing the bus which is not even moving, I got inside. Victory! But the bus didn't move for 15 mins. But that's fine atleast I managed to get a seat. Then after reaching home, I had the lunch and grabbed my recipe book and dusted it off. Yes, I didn't use for a while. But this time wasn't any spider webs. I noticed something, with the habit of placing my recipe book surrounded by the utensils and ingredients it has eventually got an art on it.

Once I noted it I started to embrace the way my recipe book looks and smells, I mean it doesn't need to be labelled. it's appearance itself does the honor. Each of its pages unfolds to a recipe where you sense a whiff while turning them one after another. The mesmerizing aroma of melted butter, warm chocolate, and vanilla drags you to the pastry capital of the world - France. And you must see the art of messy pastry notes. With the designs made out of the slashes of melted chocolate, crumbles of brownie, buttery finger prints, greasy pen, own reviews on the outputs, corrections made through experiments with multicolour pens, reddish traces of pizza sauce, butter sheet scraps stuck in between the recipe book, and i should not go without mentioning the stickiness of the golden caramel. Perhaps it sounds like a disaster to people who has OCD but in my opinion, the pallet and brushes are supposed to be mixed and messed with paints to produce an art.

Meet you in my next blog,
Have a nice day✨✨
