Beauty on others, a flaw on myself.
4th February 2025,

Eight day of blogging.
Helloo guys, for today's blog I came up with one of my poems. I would like to share it here. The most controversial one from my collection. Often misunderstood.
I'll give a brief summary to avoid misinterpretation or misconception at the end.

"Beauty on others, a flaw on myself"
I'm a racist! yes i am.
It's not that Dark skin tones are my favourite
Neither the tallness,
Nor the pimples.
i do hate Dark circles.
frizzy hair drives me furious
My wish list never had a tick box for wrinkles
is that enough to make me a RACIST?
But no one knows.
Only the victims do
But dare not to disclose it
They do protest,
I do criticize.
at the end of the day,
both the culprit and the victim
Submerge in silence
As they reside in the same body.
- Yamini (fallen angel).
Here comes the explanation. The term racism is ofter recognised as an external discrimination which in the sense discriminating others(external bodies, or beings). But in my poem I expressed it as an internal struggle between me and my body. Everything that seems to be beautiful are not actually found to be the same when it's on me. I love people of dark tone, I adore them. But if ever I turn to be them, I won't have the courage to celebrate that beauty on me. which makes me a RACIST not for others but for me - (internalised racism).
